Join the ALT moot court competition, receive EC and win prizes.

The 2024 edition of the Amsterdam Law Trials (ALT) is now open for registration for AUC participants. This moot court competition brings together honours students from AUC, PPLE, VU and AHCL. You will receive mentorship from AUC alumni, lawyers representing the diversity of the Amsterdam Bar and judges from the District Court of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. There will also be English-taught lectures on Dutch law at VU to prepare you for ALT.

All participants will receive 3 EC for participating in ALT upon completion (though not counting towards your 180 EC to graduate) and each winner may take home scholarships worth €1,200 offered by Boom Juridische Uitgevers!

AUC aims to contribute 10 to 15 second or third-year students to the competition. Teams of 2 to 3 persons will work as lawyers, while judges will work individually on panels. If you want to be a lawyer, consider finding teammates willing to join your team.

Our past teams have achieved great success in ALT. AUC students won the Best Lawyer Team award in 2016-17, both the Best Lawyer Team and Best Judge awards in 2017-18, and the Best Lawyer Team again in 2021-22. Let’s strive for another successful year!
