Programme for Day 2
Full-programme students
During this session, you will be introduced to your tutor who will act as your academic advisor for the next three years. You will also learn more about the tutoring programme and academic support systems at AUC. The workshop will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
You will be sent the name of your tutor the week before Introduction Week. The room locations per tutor will be posted in the table below. In case you forget your tutor's name or room number, please stop by the reception desk before the start of the workshop.
Exchange students (Mentor group 17)
During this time block, exchange students at AUC will participate in a session with the International Office focusing on need-to-know information relevant to your semester abroad. You can find the location below under "AUC International Office".

During this session, students in mentor groups 1-8 will be introduced to the courses that are at the heart of the AUC programme: the Academic Core. Dora Achourioti (Head of Studies, Academic Core) will explain what the core consists of, which courses are required and what skills you will learn by taking these courses.

Exchange students (Mentor Group 17) completing their semester abroad will enjoy a lunch together.

During Introduction Week, it’s normal to have some practical questions regarding your study programme and new home. For this reason, there will be various open office hours during the week. On Tuesday, the following representatives will be present:

In this session, the Heads of Studies for the Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities will highlight the most important things for you to know about your major, the subjects you'll study and the course options within them. You should attend the major session for which you applied to AUC. Please note that students on exchange (Group 17) do not have to attend these sessions.
Locations
A wide variety of AUCSA student committees will be participating in the committee market to help you discover AUCSA and Amsterdam initiatives. The participating committees will give a short pitch and/or sample activity to give you a sense of what they do and how you can get involved. This will take place around the Academic Building and you can visit alone or with friends.

Wrap up the second day of Introduction Week with a(n optional) drink at bar Poesiat & Kater. AUCSA will be there along with some of your mentors to continue mixing and mingling.

After a day full of information, you'll have time to sit down and reflect on the first couple days of Introduction Week with your mentors and mentor groups during dinner. Your mentors will take the lead on organising the dinner and location, so be sure to ask them for the details.
