Programme for Day 1

  • 11:30-12:00 Walk-in and Meet your Mentor Group

    Arrival

    Please arrive at the AUC Academic Building (AB) (Science Park 113, Amsterdam) by 11:50 at the latest. This gives you enough time to find your mentor group before the programme begins.

    Meet your mentor group

    Your mentors are second- and third-year AUC students who will guide you throughout Introduction Week. They are a great source of practical advice about studying at AUC, settling into student housing and student life in Amsterdam. Feel free to ask them any questions you may have.

  • 12:00-13:00 Official AUC Welcome & Science Park Tour

    You will receive an email with your mentor group number before Introduction Week, so you will know which activity you and your mentor group will attend first.

    1-8 Official Welcome to AUC [plenary session]  Prof. Dr. Bruce Mutsvairo (Interim Dean, AUC) and other AUC faculty members will host an official welcome and introduction to the AUC programme to cover need-to-know topics that will help you have a smooth start at AUC.

    9-18 Science Park Tour Discover the research institutes, essential shops, cafés, study spots and other facilities at Science Park with your mentor group. Get to know the campus you’ll call home for the next three years. Around Science Park
  • 13:00-14:00 Lunch & Group Switchover

    Time to have some lunch and get ready for the next activity (Official AUC Welcome or Science Park Tour).

  • 14:00-15:00 Official AUC Welcome & Science Park Tour

    After the first hour, you'll switch. Those who attended the plenary will then have a chance to meet their mentors, and those who already met their mentors will attend the plenary. You can find the division and location of the activity per group in the table below.

  • 15:00-15:30 Gather with your Mentor Group

    Reunite with your mentor group outside the AUC building. Take this chance to warm up together before the start of the Icebreaker Tournament!

  • 15:30-18:00 Ice Breaker Tournament

    This light-hearted, friendly competition between mentor groups is a great way to continue meeting your classmates and connect with fellow first-years. It’s a relaxed and welcoming way to conclude your first day of Introduction Week.
