Before the week begins, take a moment to review the steps and tips below so you're prepared.
  • Step 1: Activate your student email address

All AUC students receive an AUC email account via Microsoft 365. Official emails from AUC will always be sent to this student email address. As a convenience, messages are also forwarded to the email address you listed in Studielink.

If you're happy with this setup, no action is needed. Want to change the forwarding settings or learn how to access your student email? Follow the instructions at the link below.

  • Step 2: Read and review essential documents

Before you start at AUC, please take a moment to read the documents below. They include useful tips and essential information about academic procedures, standards and expectations. These documents will be discussed during plenary and tutor sessions, so it's helpful to be familiar with them in advance.

    1. Academic Standards and Procedures
    2. Social and Academic Codes of Conduct
    3. Board of Examiners Rules and Guidelines

If you have any questions after reviewing these documents, please contact your academic tutor.

  • Step 3: Fill in your emergency contact details

We require all AUC students to leave contact details for a person whom we can contact in case of an emergency. You can leave their name, telephone number and email address via SIS. Please also state your relationship with this person (e.g. parent, friend, sibling).

Don’t forget to inform this person that he/she is your contact person.

Please make sure to have your emergency contact information updated before the start of Introduction Week (23 August 2026 at the latest).

  • Step 4: Review the practical matters section

Curious about how to register with the city of Amsterdam? Or maybe you're wondering how to pick up your student visa? Visit the “Introduction Week: Practical Matters” page for quick answers to these and other common questions.

  • Step 5: View the Introduction Week programme

The full preliminary programme is now live! View the timetable to see what’s planned each day during Introduction Week.

  • Step 6: Review the Welcome Brochure from the Student Council, AUCSA and Peer Support

The AUC Student Council, AUC Student Association (AUCSA) and Peer Support have put together a welcome brochure to introduce themselves and offer tips and resources to help you settle into life at AUC. The guide offers practical tips on dorm life, getting around Amsterdam and adjusting to university. From where to rent tools to how to get a bike, the brochure shares advice the teams wish they had known when they first arrived.

To be updated on this page soon.

  • Step 7: Ask a student

Starting university and moving into the dorms can come with lots of practical questions. To help you settle in, current AUC students are available on the Unibuddy platform to answer anything you’re wondering about. Check out their profiles and feel free to ask your questions before Introduction Week begins.
