AUC is committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the community
Mission statement of the DLG
The purpose of the Diversity Leadership Group (DLG) is to oversee the implementation and development of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan of AUC, and to play an advisory role regarding AUC’s policies on diversity more generally.
On top of this, the DLG supports community-building for AUC on diversity-related topics. The DLG has collaborated with members of the community in the following events:

Discussion with two researchers at the VU, Dr. Ismintha Waldring and Otto Linde, about their diverse pathways into academics (December 2024);

Excursion to the Amsterdam Museum with Professor Johan Koppenol encouraged participants to reflect on how history is told and whose voices are heard (May 2025);

Excursion to the Hortus Botanicus with Misha Vlethuis and Dr. Saurabh Arora explored the layered history of the Hortus as both a site of scientific discovery and a place historically connected to colonial networks (June 2025);

Diversity Leadership Group (DLG)
The DLG oversees the implementation of AUC’s DEI plans, advises on policies, and organizes events that foster community engagement on topics such as academic pathways, colonial histories, and artistic practices.

DivCom | AUCSA Diversity Commission
The commission actively listens to students and addresses issues related to diversity and inclusivity within the AUCSA community. As an advisory group, DivCom ensures that AUCSA committees take DEI issues into account in their decision making and event planning.

The council collaborates with student organisations and the Diversity Leadership Group to organise events, raise awareness, and provide a platform for students to voice concerns and help create an inclusive community.

A student-led platform at the University of Amsterdam that promotes accessibility and inclusivity for students with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. The group raises awareness, advises students and staff, advocates in university policymaking, and works to improve campus accessibility

AMPA | Alternative Mental and Physical Architecture
Mental and Physical Architecture works to promote accessibility, equity, and inclusion for students and staff with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or neurodivergence. The organisation raises awareness, provides guidance, and supports initiatives to create a more inclusive environment at the Faculty of Science.
