Both Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA) offer honours programmes for their talented and motivated bachelors students. AUC students are also eligible to register and partake in a selection of these courses at either the VU or UvA.

General Information for AUC students

Before you register for a UvA or VU honours course, please contact your tutor to discuss the possibilities available to you with your tutor.

Registration

It is possible for students at AUC to take an elective in one of the honours programmes of the VU and UvA. Similarly, honours students of the VU and UvA have the opportunity to take an elective in the Liberal Arts and Sciences programme at AUC.

Please note that the enrolment period and procedure for VU and UvA honours courses are different than that for AUC courses.

The process of enrolling for an off-campus honours level course at the UvA or VU will involve:

1. Consulting with your tutor about the off-campus course selection
2. Registering for the course via the respective website
   • University of Amsterdam
   • Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
3. Asking the Board of Examiners for permission by submitting an off-campus course request
4. Taking the course as a "fifth" course or dropping another course (only after having received approval from the BoE)
