After applying to AUC, admitted students will be guided through their initial enrolment by the admissions office. For the second and third years, students must re-enrol themselves.

Continuing your studies at AUC after the summer? You must re-enrol.

If you are continuing with your AUC studies after the summer, you must re-enrol with the University of Amsterdam in Studielink. Re-enrolment usually opens in early May. You must re-enrol in order to register for courses for the upcoming semester.

How to re-enrol
  • Re-enrolling for UvA first-students

    Re-enrol by taking the following steps:

    • Log in to Studielink
    • Go to your To do list 
    • Click on ‘Arrange your re-enrolment’
    • On the next page, click on ‘Yes, I want to re-enrol,’ and then click 'Confirm
    • Please meet all enrolment requirements (including arranging the payment of tuition fees) no later than 31 August 2024.
  • Re-enrolling for VU first-students

    Due to changes in the laws regarding joint degrees, it has been decided that per 2024 one can only re-enrol via the UvA, even if originally VU-first, and pay tuition fees to them. You can re-enrol via the UvA taking the following steps:

    • Log in to Studielink.
    • Click on the link 'Add new enrolment application' in the Study Programmes tab
    • Use the search function to find your study programme. You will see it is now only possible to re-enrol for the programme with University of Amsterdam. 
    • Select the programme and proceed with the steps to complete your re-enrolment. 
    • After confirmation, your request for re-enrolment will be sent to the UvA. Please meet all enrolment requirements no later than 31 August 2024. Retroactive enrolment or late enrolment after 1 September 2024 is not possible. 

Arrange your tuition fee payment by 31 August 2024

In order to be sure that your re-enrolment is fully active from 1 September 2024, it is important that you complete it by re-enrolling via Studielink and arranging for payment of the tuition fees for the coming academic year to the UvA well before 31 August 2024. Failure to do this would mean you cannot continue your studies at AUC in the coming academic year. More information about arranging your tuition fee payment can be found here.

Please take note of the following:

  • In case you would be studying abroad next semester, do make sure to have all procedures taken care of before you leave this summer. Just to be absolutely safe, make sure to also have an active DigID and take the login details with you.
  • If taking off-campus courses at the VU, you can only be registered once re-enrolment has been finalised via UvA, for your VU account to also be active.
  • If you would have tuition fee arrears for the current academic year, then re-enrolment cannot be finalised as long as the arrears have not been paid.
  • If you would be graduating in February, tuition fee payment for the entire academic year need to be arranged for, you would then be paid back any fees paid following the date of graduation.
  • If you would be contesting a negative Binding Study Advice (BSA), then please do complete your Studielink re-enrolment, just in case.
  • Are you graduating?

    If you are graduating, you can indicate this in Studielink, you will then not receive further reminders from them. If by any chance you cannot graduate, you will need to re-enrol for the next academic year. 

  • Withdrawing from your studies

    If you should choose not to re-enrol for the next academic year for any reason other than graduating, please consult with your tutor and inform the Registrar Team in a message. For more information about withdrawing from you studies, you can visit this page.
