First-year students not enrolled in Academic Writing Skills this semester have been invited to join an online "Plagiarism Workshop" on Canvas to ensure they understand how to cite sources properly and avoid plagiarism.

Accept the invitation on Canvas

Students who have been invited should accept the Canvas invitation by Friday 27 September in order to access the course materials.

Components of the Plagiarism Workshop

The information contained in the course is essential for your academic success, so we encourage you to get as soon as possible. The workshop includes the following components:

  • Plagiarism Handout: This concise guide covers the essential concepts of plagiarism and what this means at AUC.
  • Plagiarism Quiz: A quiz will take place during the first week of October during the lunch break (13.00 to 13.30). This quiz is not only a quick refresher but also an important tool to help you avoid the serious consequences of plagiarism. Specific session details will be shared on Canvas.

This workshop requires a small time commitment, but it is a valuable step toward protecting academic integrity and building confidence in your writing.

Extra support via the AUC Writing Centre

The AUC Writing Centre will also offer follow-up Q&A sessions for students who require further clarification or would like more information about plagiarism policies at AUC. You can find more information about the AUC Writing Centre via the link below.
