More information about courses
In the UvA Course Catalogue you can find an overview of all courses offered at AUC in a particular academic year. The Course Catalogue contains brief information about a course’s learning outcomes, its contents, and assessment structure. Course entries also specify the major to which a course belongs, possible cross-listings, and prerequired knowledge. The Course Catalogue forms the official guide to consult if you need information about an AUC course.
To further help students make decisions for course registration, you can browse through past course manuals, which can be found below. The course manuals have been organised per major and per semester. These manuals will be updated once a year, and therefore may not be the most up-to-date version. The manuals are to be used as a guide only: please be mindful that their contents are subject to change and that no rights can be obtained from them. Course adjustments, for example to assessments, readings, or the weekly programme and course structure, are regularly made to improve the overall quality of a course. Lecturers adapt courses based on student feedback in course evaluations and on feedback received during the peer review process.
In some instances it has not been possible to provide a course manual. If the manual you seek is unavailable please refer to the course information in the UvA course catalogue.
You will receive definitive information about the course(s) in which you are enrolled through the final course manual, which is published in Canvas in the week before the start of the new teaching period. The final course manual can deviate from the archived manuals available for browsing.
