AUC supports a social standard in which alcohol consumption is not the norm within the academic environment. Having a clear alcohol (prevention) policy helps promote good habits and health among all community members.

AUC has taken an important step to help foster a new social standard in which alcohol consumption is not automatically the norm within the academic environment. The clarification of a clear AUC alcohol (prevention) policy helps  protect the health of all, but especially young people.

In short, alcohol consumption will generally not be promoted at AUC events. This counts for both students and staff. When activities take place in the AB, there will only be non-alcohol beverages.

The only possible exceptions, are activities that happen off-campus, such as the graduation ceremony, and events organised by AUCSA (they are an independent organisation). For more information, see the policy memo, that was adopted earlier this academic year.
